Hello;

I am new to Hapkido but extremely passionate about it.

I will soon go through a lower back surgery to have a Laminectomy Performed on L3,4&5.

What will that do to my ability to continue to learn and practice the Art.

I am a 47 year old male.

Thank you so much for the advise, I do take it to heart.

You are right, the picture was taken when I weighed 375lbs, since March I lost 70lbs and need to lose 20-30lbs more.

My main concern is the procedure leaves me with a weaker structure housing the nerves in that area of the spine. I understand that proper technique is critical, but what about direct impact coming from rolls or falls to the area?.
