I've done TKD since I was a small child so 20+ yrs, I've done hapkido since 01 or 02. I learned alot of it in the army

What do you love about your art?
i love that i can teach my art to younger and older people then myself. I love the look of excitement and aggravation when they can't do it right. I love to see them grow so much that in it self is an amazing gift.
Where do you study or practice?
I was in the military 6yrs. Ive study in Korea, and done demos in Spain and Korea. I was in st. Louis mo, for 4 yrs and did most martial arts there. Others I learned in the army, while in Iraq and Afghanistan I meet another guy in my platoon who also did hapkido and martial arts and we worked together to stay up on our technique. While I was on Kosovo I trained my battalion in combatives and when I could trained other arts.

I love Korea - spent a lot of time there, have a lot of friends there.
Usually try to get there 2 x a year, next trip planned is for spring 2011.

Hi Brett. It sounds like you are a seriously dedicated martial artist. So the Hapkido that you study in Korea, what would you say it emphasizes? I've done some Hapkido styles that have been quite balanced between joint locks and strikes, others that focused on locks, and others that emphasized flashy techniques like flying kicks and acrobatics.

What about your Jujitsu, what style did you study?
