back in town/ back in action

Well, I'm back from my show in Florence Italy...it wasn't a vacation....it was work...

Anyway, it went well...spent way too much money...good to be home and back to training.

I missed testing for my next rank but that's okay because I want to review everything I have learned before....I also missed over a month of Judo....I started back at regular classes last week, but today i took a a double, one hour of Hapkido then an hour of Judo....

I've always been puzzled and maybe slightly annoyed by the emphasis on wrist grab defenses in Hapkido and Jujitsu. I think I read once that Master Choi's first student, the brewery owner who sponsored his first school, was a Judo practitioner and therefore was interested in defenses against Judo grabs. But that doesn't make sense, since the typical Judo grab is sleeve and lapel.
