Depends on your reasons for being in the martial arts. If you like Aikido and its philosophy and style, then stick with it. If you are looking for more realistic self-defense skills, then I would say Hapkido. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the invitation. It is a pleasure to expand the circle. With regard to Aikido, we in Hapkido are very closely related. I would say that Hapkido is somewhat like Aikido, but we are the ones on steroids with mean intentions.

Hello Josh, welcome. I know Aikido is big in the UK. Are there many Hapkido schools? Did you know that Hapkido and Aikido are the same word? (one in Korean and one in Japanese). The arts share a common origin, though Hapkido tends to be much more aggressive in practice.
